share house in Japan, Tokyo. [interwhao] > Happiness Report > party / event > First House Mizonokuchi 100+b House Party!!
Hello everyone!
This is Kiyoshi from Interwao.
The warm days are slowly increasing, and I’ve started seeing cherry blossoms blooming here and there around the city. At the same time, the pollen count is crazy, but how’s everyone doing?
So today, I wanted to share with you all the highlights from the recent house event at First House Mizonokuchi B!
The theme of the party was:
“Let’s Eat My Mom’s Vietnamese Cooking!”
Fun fact: I was born and raised in Japan, but my parents are Vietnamese, so I’m 100% Vietnamese myself. Of course, the residents at Mizonokuchi B know this, and I’ve gotten plenty of requests for Vietnamese food over time. There have been so many requests that this time, we finally had my mom (who I believe makes the best Vietnamese food in the world) come and cook for us!!
We made three dishes this time:
The main dish – Bánh Mì, which is pretty much a Vietnamese breakfast staple.
And then the two most famous side dishes: Fried Spring Rolls and Fresh Spring Rolls!
Let’s get cooking in the kitchen!
The residents were eagerly circling around my mom, wondering if they could help with anything.
Here we have someone on fried spring roll duty, making sure they don’t burn.
Look at all the fresh ingredients for the fresh spring rolls and the bread for the Bánh Mì!
Here we have Vietnamese ham – it’s one of the key ingredients for Bánh Mì, which is essentially a Vietnamese sandwich. You slice it thin and add it to the sandwich.
Once all the ingredients were ready, everyone started making their own custom Bánh Mì.
First, my mom showed everyone how to do it.
And here’s the finished product! You can tell it’s a good one just by looking at it.
And here’s a failed attempt. Remember, listen carefully next time! (Haha)
After everyone made their sandwiches, we dug in!
Look at that cilantro overflowing, and the eating skills are on point!
Of course, everything tasted amazing!
We had a great turnout for the event, and it was another big success!
We ate, drank, talked, and laughed a lot – it was a super fulfilling event!
One of the strengths of Interwao is the international vibe of our shared houses, so it was amazing to make the house even more global with this event. I’m really glad I hosted it!
Now, I’m looking forward to what kind of food we’ll have next time!
With the new semester starting in April, many new people are beginning their lives at Interwao’s shared houses. I hope we can host even more events with our new residents too!
By the way, First House Mizonokuchi B, where this event took place, is just a 13-minute walk from Tokyu Mizonokuchi Station and JR Musashi-Mizonokuchi Station. It’s only about 15 minutes to Shibuya on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, and just 8 minutes to Musashi-Kosugi on the JR Nambu Line. The location is perfect with super convenient access!
If you’re interested in shared housing or want to live in a truly international environment where you can use English every day, our shared houses are highly recommended!

I’ll see you all next time!
