Walking Strolling Shinjuku-ing! ~Toyama Park~ - share house in Japan, Tokyo. [interwhao]

Hello! I’m Ryo Matsuzaki, in charge of Shinjuku area, the best indoor employee in Interwao!

Summer is approaching and the days of dampness will continue,

but please be careful about your physical condition such as getting enough hydration

 

This time we went for a walk around Higashi-Shinjuku area where you can fully refresh yourself within walking distance from our studio apartment,

Maison Yochomachi, which is a 6-minute walk from Wakamatsu-Kawada Station on the Toei Oedo Line and a 10-minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station!

 

・ Toyama Park

Shinjuku Toyama Park is located north of Wakamatsu-Kawada Station,

just east of JR Takadanobaba and Shin-Okubo,

and is a natural park in the middle of this urban city.

 

It’s about a 10-minute walk from Maison Yochomachi,

and the roads along the way totally wide enough,

so it’s perfect for walking, jogging, and cycling!

Toyama Park is divided into east and west across the national road Meiji-dori,

with Mt. Hakone at an altitude of about 44 m on the east side,

and Shinjuku Sports Center on the west side.

It was sunny on the day and the temperature was almost 30℃,

so it was quite hot, but when I entered the park,

the greenery was plentiful with super comfortable wind, and I felt cool at 1 moment!

 

Azaleas and hydrangeas welcome you to the plazas along the way!

Going a little further, you will see the entrance to Mt. Hakone.

 

Take a small rest in front of the mountain peak.

It took only about 5 minutes from the entrance!

There are benches and information boards.

Applicants can also get a certificate of climbing!

 

 

It took about 25 minutes from the property to the summit of Mt.Hakone.

You can go around slowly on your days off,

or it’s recommended to have a little free time!

Next, let’s cross Meiji-dori and attack the west side of Toyama Park ^ ^

 

 

The west side is right next to Waseda University,

so it’s not only a place for students to play during lunch breaks

and also for mothers and grandparents with children to relax.

Going a little further and you will find Shinjuku Sports Center.

 

The Shinjuku Sports center has heated pool,

training gym, dance studio and martial arts hall and so on!

 

 

I always end up staying at home during the holidays

and tend to lack exercise, but it was a really good refreshment!

And on the way back from Toyama Park, stopping by Shinjuku Eastside Square at Higashi Shinjuku Station!

 

There are restaurants, convenience store,

and cafes in the square directly connected to Higashi Shinjuku Station, which is perfect for taking a break

 

 

A property where you can walk around such a fulfilling area within a 15-minute walk,

Maison Yochomachi is equipped with furniture,

home appliances and kitchen utensils in all rooms,

no internet contract required, and a bicycle storage area!
